Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 basic salary plus benefits package
A well-established Legal firm are seeking a Senior Technical Support Engineer to join their 70-strong team based in Slough. They require a professional candidate with experienced to provide 1st to 3rd line IT support, manage technical project work and upgrades, and to ensure 99% uptime.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Manage and administrate the server infrastructure
* Monitor the infrastructure and ensure its' suitability to deliver the level of service required to maintain the case workflow within the firm
* Advising the Partners on any project required to maintain and upgrade an efficient IT system
* Monitor recurring calls for help and conduct internal training on any recurring issues
* Manage and administrate the P4W Case Management system
* Participate in system/server upgrades and provide ongoing support
* Communicate with 3rd party vendors in resolving issues
* Ensure all departmental processes, procedures and documentation are followed and maintained
Skills and Technologies Required:
* Windows Operating Systems 7/10, Office 2010/2016 & Office365
* Microsoft Server Technologies including Hyper V, Server 2012 R2/R1, Server 2008 R2, SQL Server 2008, Exchange 2010 / 2013, and Lync 2013
* Hardware: Desktop (HP, Dell), Printers, Scanner, Server, Switches, Router, Mobile Phones etc.
* MS SQL server and basic SQL scripting skills
* Citrix XenApp (able to troubleshoot issues and publish applications)
* WAN & Local Gateway, Application publish
* NetApp SAN
* File and Print Sharing server
* SQL 2008/2012
* Sophos XG Firewall and Central
* Exchange 2010 and Mimecast
* LYNC/Skype for Business, Telephone numbers, Fax
* Internal and external networks, router, switches, Wi-Fi
* Crystal reporting
Experience Required:
* Proven experience working across 1st - 3rd Line Support in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent communications, interpersonal skills, and the ability to translate technical IT projects into easily understandable projects and business plans
* Problem solving skills and ability to work with minimum supervision, escalating matters to 3rd line support contractors only when needed
* Professional attitude, with strong attention to detail and pride in own work
* Excellent time management
