Solution Architect job in - April 2020 - ref

A leading Infrastructure Services provider based nr. Luton are seeking a Solution Architect to join their growing Technology department. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with a strong technical background, excellent communication skills and experience working between the business and IT team to design and deliver cutting-edge technologies.

The Role:

- Design and deliver the implementation of new technical solutions across the business
- Ensure that updates and upgrades meet both the IT strategy, as well as satisfying the wider business requirements
- Document necessary technical architecture high-level and low-level design artefacts, in accordance with architectural standards
- In collaboration with wider team, develop and maintain product strategies, standards, roadmaps and the design of standard configurations
- Act as an advocate for Enterprise Architecture, aligning business and IT principles
- Keep up-to-date with newly released and future technology trends, highlighting opportunities for innovation and improvement
- Continually analyse the current technology environment and recommend any solutions for improvement
- Work as part of the Architecture team to define and maintain the principles that guide technology decisions

Candidate Requirements:

Required skillset:

- Proven experience as a Technical or Solutions Architect, capable of driving and delivering initiatives to achieve results
- Excellent communication skills
- Able to effectively communicate and negotiate with senior stakeholders, across both technology and business
- Strong technical background
- Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) is essential
- Experience with middleware architecture
- Comfortable managing the design process from start to successful completion
- Ability to understand the short-term and long-term perspectives
- Experience with large scale projects and programmes
- Understanding of how to estimate the financial impact of technical architecture
- Ability to manage vendors and suppliers when necessary

Desirable Skillset:
- Experience with Azure
- Oracle SOA experience
- AWS Certified
- ITIL V3 Qualifications
