Senior Underwriter (Crisis Management & Political Violence)

Our client, a leading insurance group based in the City of London with offices in Bermuda, Copenhagen, Dubai and Singapore, have a unique opportunity to join their Underwriting team.

THE ROLE

To assist the Class Underwriter in all aspects of underwriting and management of the Crisis Management and Political Violence portfolio.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

*Agreement and negotiation of renewals and new business in accordance with underwriting authority and where appropriate, individual budgeted goals within the Crisis Management & Political Violence portfolio.
*Agreement of endorsements / amendments / promised lines in accordance with underwriting authority
*Pro-active Marketing to meet class and divisional budgets
*Build on existing and develop new long term client relationships including where appropriate foreign travel
*Build strong market peer group reputation.
*Supporting Class and other Deputy Class Underwriters in all aspects of the underwriting and management of the account
*Assisting Class U/W in preparation of any monthly Executive Report.
*Coding and Risk Administration.
*Liaison with Administration Department
*Liaison with Claims Department.
*Reporting of issues to Class Underwriters.
*Client liaison for allocated risks and / or in absence of Class Underwriters.
*Reporting to Active Underwriter in absence of Class Underwriter.
*Assisting the Crisis Management & PV Unit Head with management data monitoring.
*Keeping aggregate exposure records
*Preparation of statistics
*Liaison with Credit control department
*Assisting with special projects
*Managing timely receipt of bordereaux and bordereaux payments under facility business

REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS

*Manage the relationships with Customers, Agents and Service Providers:
*Advise, assist and service customers on insurance and risk matters to promote customers' satisfaction;
*Foster positive relationships with Customers and attain an understanding of their needs;
*Ensure that Customer Complaints are promptly identified, recorded and referred as appropriate; and,
*Ensure that the principles of Treating Customers Fairly are upheld by Agents and Service Providers.

OUR REQUIREMENTS

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE
Essential
*Relevant PV / Crisis Management insurance experience

TECHNICAL SKILLS
Essential
*Good IT skills, including Excel and Word.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Essential
*5 GCSE's English and Maths grade 'C' or above (or equivalent)
*3 'A' Level passes (or equivalent)
*Lloyd's Introductory Test
*Studying for ACII Qualifications
