Our client is a leading international insurance company headquartered in London. They are now hiring for a Senior Reporting Accountant.

The role will be responsible for the preparation of internal and external reports of the department, including all Lloyd's regulatory returns, associated management information and other project work. The candidate will also prepare analytical tools and reports to support the information produced as well as providing support to more junior team members.

Senior Reporting Accountant Duties:

*Responsible for the production and review of Syndicate reporting to Lloyd's, comprising:
oQMA, QMB, GQD, Solvency II, US and Canadian situs reporting.
oAnnual and underwriting year financial statements.
oPrduction of analytics and commentary to support regular or ad hoc queries on, or related to, syndicate reporting.
oThe responsibility includes all necessary liaison with parties involved in the process, in particular within the Finance area, to ensure the end result is delivered in the timeframe and standard required.
oEnsuring reports are produced in accordance with relevant timetables, and allowing appropriate time for management review
*Production of analytical tools and analytical memos supporting each one of the reports produced
*Overseeing the planning and production of reports and ensuring that they are produced in accordance with the relevant timetables, ensuring that there is enough time for a proper management review and understanding of the figures
*Development of diagnostics and continuous interaction with underwriters and actuaries in order to develop the understanding of the figures.
*Assisting preparation of internal reports including ad hoc requirements from the Head Office.
*Support the audit process; liaising with internal and external auditors at the highest level and ensuring that all the information required is produced and the audits are completed on time.
*Contributing to a robust control environment:
oMaintaining a sound system of internal controls
oResponsible for the documentation of procedures affecting the areas under supervision
*Project work as required, and cultivating an environment of continuous improvement:
oCollaboration in the development of process and reporting improvements for increased accuracy, efficiency and timeliness.
oActive participation on finance transformation project and other relevant projects.
*Assisting the Syndicate Reporting Manager in oversight and management of the Reporting function:
oProviding support and guidance to junior team members
oEnhanced involvement in planning and coordination of deliverables.


*Exposure to the Lloyd's market as an accountant or an auditor and/or experience with a Syndicate reporting team.

*Working knowledge of Lloyd's accounting and reporting rules, UK GAAP, Solvency II, Companies Act
*Advanced experience of using Excel
*Advanced report writing skills
*Very good verbal communication
*Exposure to insurance accounting standards

*Knowledge of IFRS
*Knowledge of Lloyd's software

*Qualified Accountant (CA, ACCA or CIMA)

*Able to deliver results under tight deadlines, showing flexibility when required
*Strong sense of accountability and ownership of the work assigned
*Emphasis on quality of the outputs produced
*Self-starter, requiring minimum supervision, with the ability to solve problems and find solutions
