Senior Internal Auditor *Insurance*

Our client, a leading international business headquartered in London, is seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to support their Internal Audit function, which aims to help the Board and Executive Management to protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the organisation.


The Senior Internal Auditor will have responsibility for leading all aspects (i.e. planning, execution and reporting) of assigned audits, including completing them in accordance with Internal Audit Standards and guidance, and the use of Internal Audit technology tools.


Role summary:

You will be responsible for delivering high quality, commercially focused audits and advisory reviews. You will collaborate with Senior management to develop the audit planning process and you will define the internal audit program, preparing reports and working papers in line with Internal auditing standards. You will play an active part in recommending and promoting practical and cost-effective actions for improving the effectiveness of the risk management process and internal control environment. You will be responsible for producing internal audit reports and providing information and analysis for presentation to the Audit Committee and you will assist in working closely with Risk Management and other Control functions to deliver a robust but flexible risk based Annual Audit Programme


The regulatory responsibilities will include:

Identifying and assisting in advising the Audit Committee on Conduct Risk matters arising within the business and to coordinate audits in a manner which ensures adequate oversight of potential Conduct Risk exposures.


Experience required:

***INSURANCE INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE IS A MUST***
External or Internal Audit experience
Proven track record within Internal/External Audit environment evidencing strong performance in conducting high quality audit work, findings and reports
Demonstrated leadership in managing projects and working in teams effectively
Familiar with risk-based auditing and core business processes

Desirable skills include general insurance/Lloyd's experience, Big '4' accountancy firm training, SOX and/or familiarity with Teammate+
