Job Title:Financial Controller (UK)
Reporting To: SVP, Corporate Controller (based in New York)
Direct Reports:Credit Control (UK), Payroll Manager (UK) and two Financial Accountants (UK).
Location: London & Redhill
Contract Type: Permanent
Compensation: £100,000 per annum + 10% bonus tied to the growth in the Company's adjusted EBITDA performance.

Purpose
The Financial Controller (UK) will direct the accounting operations of the company in the United Kingdom including reporting, statutory filings, and other financial matters. You will manage a sizeable team, including qualified, part qualified and administrative finance personnel. This position reports to the SVP, Corporate Controller, working closely with the Professional Staffing (UK) leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial
*Implement, document, and maintain strong and effective financial controls, systems, and processes.
*Ownership of the Balance Sheet including Treasury and working capital management.
People Management
*You will be a natural leader and people manager who helps to coach the team, driving individual performance and continual improvement.
*There is a strong emphasis on developing the team to work in a more autonomous way.
*You will quickly identify gaps in skill and work with the team to bridge these gaps.
Month End
*Oversee the month-end process, ensuring all transactions are recognised correctly.
*Ownership of financial information for Board reporting.
Statutory
*Ensure VAT, PAYE, and other tax returns are submitted promptly.
*Manage the year-end audit processes, liaising with external auditors.
*Lead on tax analysis, reporting, and compliance while working with our external tax advisers.
About you
Whilst generating accurate information is important, so too is what you use it for! You will be someone who challenges the status quo and uses financial information to drive business outcomes and changes in behaviour across all levels of the organisation. You will have the proven ability to develop strong working relationships with senior managers and have the gravitas to influence the board.
*Must be solution-driven with sound problem-solving skills and a creative approach with the ability to develop new ideas.
*Experience establishing new processes and procedures.
*Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritise and organise both work and people to tight deadlines.
*Ability to work in a team (and independently) as well as be comfortable working in an unstructured environment.
Qualifications
*ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified accountant required.
*Bachelor's degree or master's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
*10 years or more of relevant experience required.
*Proven track record as a hands-on, generalist financial controller in a medium sized company.
*Excellent reporting experience with the ability to produce accurate, timely, and informative reports.
*Prior track record of leading or playing a key role in a financial systems implementation (RSM InTime would be a huge positive).
*Leadership experience - demonstrates the ability to manage, motivate and coach a team.
*Excellent verbal communication, written communication, and critical thinking skills.
*Excellent and highly accurate math and accounting skills.
*Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
*Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
*Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software, and Access Dimensions.
