Location: City of London (hybrid arrangement)


Our client, a leading insurance group based in the City of London with offices in Bermuda, Copenhagen, Dubai, and Singapore, have a unique opportunity to join their Finance Team.

As Finance Business Partner, you will work closely with the underwriting divisions and cover all aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis, which includes budgeting, reporting, and forecasting of both technical underwriting results and operating expenses.

The Finance Business Partner will provide analysis and opinions to support decision-making in the business, and to support the C-suite in translating strategy into financial targets and indicators.


The Finance Business Partner's main responsibilities include:
*Providing underwriting divisions and senior management with explanations of financial performance (YoA Ultimate and GAAP)
*Reviewing and challenging premium projections
*Providing commercial and financial expertise to improve decision making
*Premium Planning by working with underwriters to review and challenge ultimate premium forecasts and to develop an underwriting MI suite of reports
*Quarterly "Early Close" Group Result Reporting
*Supporting underwriters with the production of business plans and forecasts
*Producing reports of past and planned performance tailored to key audiences, such as underwriting committees; Board; CUO; Underwriting heads and individual underwriters and Parent company
*Syndicate Business Forecasts
*Ad-hoc analysis as required to support business decisions and projects, implementation of the partnering function and other reporting requirements

To succeed in the role as Finance Business Partner you will have:

*An ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CA qualification
*A strong understanding of general insurance financial information and processes
*Experience of analysing insurance financial statements, identifying trends and drivers of key variances
*Experience of working within P&C (re)insurance organisation
*A good understanding of the Lloyd's insurance market, and its information and processes
*Experience of writing informative financial commentaries and presenting financial management information to varied stakeholders
*Advanced Excel, word and PowerPoint skills
*Robust understanding and experience of producing financial plans forecasts
*Experience of using Anaplan is an advantage
