Data Governance Analyst

Financial Services Consulting Firm is hiring for a number of Data Governance Analysts for their team based in the City. These are permanent roles based in the City, offering a salary of £50K - £55K.

Responsibilities include:

*Work with the business to identify the most appropriate individuals to act as Data Owners and Stewards for individual data domains/business/process segments / areas
*Identify other stakeholders with interest in data in a particular area
*Explain and socialize the responsibilities for data governance and data quality to Data Owners, Stewards and other stakeholders; provide training, support and guidance as and when needed
*Identify key systems, file shares and other data repositories used within the area / segment / process; understand and document data flows using Collibra.
*Guide business stakeholders to identify Critical Data Elements and develop associated business / data quality rules
*Working with DQ analysts to implement the DQ rules and review results with business stakeholders
*Developing effective working relationships with partners, stakeholders, and senior management is critical;
*Leading analysis / working group meetings with stakeholders including preparation of meeting materials
*Documenting current state, future state process / workflows
*Work collaboratively with Business, IT, data modelers, data quality analysts, and delivery teams to analyze data
*Identify requirements and use cases for Collibra solution that will support the governance strategy and roadmap, spanning across use cases from the Data Office and other functions
Provide walk-throughs / explain how to use the Collibra to business users (i.e. Data Owners, Stewards, SMEs)

Essential Skills and Experience:

*Experience in data governance, audit, risk management or related area
*Experience in engaging with business and / or IT management to understand and document the business processes, data flows, controls, business needs
*Advanced working knowledge of MS Office applications including Excel and Visio.
*Strong organizational, project management and multi-tasking skills.
*Ability to work closely with peers and build strong partnerships with key stakeholders.
*Good communication, presentation and influencing skills
*Experience in the Insurance industry (3+ years) and familiarity with Insurance processes and terminology
*Experience with Data Governance, Reference Data Management, Data Discovery/Lineage, Data Modeling, Data Architecture - preferably in a large P&C Insurance company or other complex Financial Services setting
*Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches
Ability to explain value of data governance to both business and technical stakeholders.
