An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a leading pharmaceuticals company now looking to hire a Qualified Accounting Manager. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity which will be based out of their Swindon office.
The purpose of this role is to manage the accounting activities for their Ireland ledger, supporting statutory financial reporting and VAT reporting requirements. The individual is expected to analyse the process behind all essential duties & responsibilities listed below, to make suggestions on how these activities can be improved and to implement change.
Ideally someone with a background in pharmaceuticals background or experience working within an American company would be desirable.
Working as part of a small team, duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
*Responsible for monthly European revenue and receivable data
*Analysing the monthly revenue and receivable data and preparing related account reconciliations
*Implementing process improvements for revenue and related accounting and reporting
*Monitoring customer accounts receivable balances
*Working directly with third-party logistics provider to address aging receivables, late payments and credit holds
*Manage month-end accounting closing processes
*Preparing month end entries and reconciliations for revenue, cash, intercompany balances, value added taxes, payroll, transfer pricing and other general accounting areas
* VAT reporting requirements
*Function as backup to UK Accounting manager.
*Other ad hoc analysis / projects as deemed appropriate
The Accounting Manager will work closely with entire Accounting/Finance team, Trade Operations, Customer and Contract Operations, Commercial Strategy and Development, Legal, Information Systems, vendors and auditors.
*College Degree in Accounting or CIMA Certificate in Business Accounting required
*5+ years relevant experience
*ACA, ACCA, CIMA Qualified (essential)
*General knowledge of U.S. GAAP and an understanding of internal accounting controls (desirable)
*Pharmaceuticals industry experience (desirable)
*Demonstrate high level of accuracy and effective oral and written communication skills.
*Experience working in a fast-paced environment with multi-project and multi-product manufacturing industry.
*High proficiency in using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
